Founders’ Legacy Gets a Big Cheer from Watkins

Let’s go Watkins, lets’ go! Let’s go Watkins, let’s go! What better way to show school spirit than being the mascot? Four Watkins students tried out for the role of “Billy the Bulldog” on Tuesday, October 14th, in front of a handful of “judges” - teachers and Mustangers. In order to be eligible for tryouts all students must have passing grades, submit a short paragraph why they would be a good mascot, parent permission, and attend tryouts.

Gage, Alvaro, Cristian, and Diego all donned the Bulldog costume to cheer, lead the wave, and slide across the floor in hopes of being the first Watkins mascot. All four students did a great job at tryouts and were so good that they will all share responsibility of being the mascot, attending games throughout the year. In hopes of making these four students the best mascots they can be, the Langham Creek High

School mascot (Lobo) and a member of the cheerleading squad will teach these newly crowned mascots how to pump up the crowd. Check these guys out at any of the Watkins football games – click here for the 2008-2009 schedule. Congratulations Gage, Alvaro, Cristian, and Diego!
