Mustang created the Founders’ Legacy during our 20th anniversary year to honor our company’s founders – Paul Redmon, Bill Higgs and Felix Covington. The Founders’Legacy is all about giving back, and specifically about giving back by investing in the lives of middle school students in our community. Middle school is when students begin to define not only their sense of self, but also their vision of the future, and, in a broad sense, their career path. The Founders’Legacy is comprised of a $10,000 donation to a middle school, to be selected each year from either the Katy or Cy-Fair school districts. The other part of the Legacy, and the most important, are face-to-face volunteer efforts where Mustangers can get personally involved to help the students and the teachers throughout the year.
After evaluating several options, Watkins Middle School was chosen as our first Founders’ Legacy Partner. Watkins is in the Cy-Fair district and has 1500 students. Our founders taught us life lessons in the workplace that are lessons that carry over into every area of life. There are countless stories of how the Mustang vision of a people-oriented company has influenced the engineering world, and one of the greatest lessons we have learned is that of giving back to others.
Watkins Middle School Appreciates the Mustang spirit, and how Mustangers have embraced the school with its energy and dedication. Our support has lifted the spirits of the students and the staff to a new high.
