My experience with Mustang has been extremely beneficial. The thing that has impressed me most with the company is the emphasis on professional development. In my first year, I had the opportunity to work on different projects that exposed me to the entire spectrum of engineering work: from conceptual stages to detailed design. In terms of training, the Young Guns program is a great resource for new graduates to get a broad view of the oil and gas industry. Most departments also provide regular 'lunch-and-learn' sessions for further education. In addition to these facilitated activities, there is also a general atmosphere that is conducive to learning. Almost everyone that I have worked with has been more than willing to go above and beyond in terms of answering questions. Finally, I have had the chance to participate in the Young Engineer Exchange Program with Wood Group's offices in Aberdeen, Scotland. This experience has given me an in-depth look at a different technical and social culture that most people don't get at this stage in their careers.
