Natural Gas Treatment and Conditioning

Natural gas requires a significant amount of processing before it can be liquefied to form LNG. The specific processing steps depend on the raw natural gas composition but commonly include:

  • scrubbing of entrained hydrocarbon liquids
  • removal and possible re-injection compression of acid gas and sulfur components (most commonly CO2 and H2S)
  • mercury removal
  • dehydration
  • filtration

Further, it may be necessary or profitable to recover natural gas liquids (NGL) or LPG from the gas either prior to liquefaction or at the LNG regasification terminal. This can be done as a stand-alone processing step; however ECO Solutions also has expertise in integrating NGL recovery with the Smart® Air Vaporization process to substantially reduce CAPEX and OPEX.
