HSE
Mustang is committed to achieving Zero HSE Incidents. We will promote proactive HSE leadership on our projects and in all our activities.

Health and Safety

Health and safety have always been major part of Mustang’s people oriented culture. It uses a two-pronged approach - occupational safety for Mustangers and project safety for the job site. Mustang continues to initiate programs directed at the wellness and accident prevention for its Mustangers. It uses the same approach for clients, partners and other participants when engineering and executing any client project.

Mustang provides a proactive approach to health and safety. The HSE department plays a lead role in conducting facility audits, product safety reviews and risk assessment for its personnel. Internally, it designs work stations so that they are ergonomically correct for each individual. In this way, Mustangers are comfortable, stay productive and have a healthier attitude, all of which help Mustang have one of the lowest attrition rates in its segment of the industry. The department provides formal Job Safety Analyses (JSA) to identify risks to health and safety in the workplace, and documents the measures taken to manage those risks. Safety meetings are frequently planned, and no meeting starts without a ‘safety minute’ to identify possible hazards or building escape routes.

Mustang puts a heavy emphasis on training. It continually offers sessions to all of its Mustangers on a variety of topics. Recently, it offered concurrent programs in H2S, electrical safety, office safety, SafeGulf, fall protection and scaffold users’ awareness training. It regularly trains Mustangers in CPR and first aid and assigns emergency first responders for all buildings housing Mustangers. Its goal is zero incidents, and it is zealous in its pursuit of that result.

Mustang carries its safety programs and all of its zeal into the field. It starts on the front end with the development of safe work plans, then follows it through with hazard identification, contingency planning, constructability review input, safety audits and assessment and continual training. With its all-inclusive involvement, it has achieved an enviable record on its projects, several of which recorded multi-million manhours free of any lost time incident.
