HOUSTON, TEXAS – Mustang Engineering (“Mustang”), a subsidiary of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC (“Wood Group”), has been selected by Valero Energy Corporation to provide engineering and procurement services for the upgrade of two Houston-area refineries. The Texas City refinery project will include the upgrade of an existing hydrotreater and the design of offsite facilities and tie-ins for the production of ultra low-sulfur diesel (ULSD) as part of Valero’s clean fuels program. Mustang will also provide design of offsite facilities, tie-ins for a new ULSD unit and revamping of the sulfur removal facilities at the Valero Houston refinery. Mustang is currently providing engineering services for projects at eight of Valero’s U.S. refineries, several of which include ULSD upgrades.
