Second Time Recipient of Industry Award
Wood Group Mustang has been named Control Engineering magazine’s 2014 System Integrator of the Year in the more than $18 million annual revenue category. Wood Group Mustang received this same award in 2010, and this marked the first year the company was eligible to reapply for the award. The competition recognizes the system integration companies that demonstrate a high level of technical expertise, business skills and customer satisfaction.
Mustang’s Automation and Control Business Unit is a leading provider of engineering, integration and implementation services for automation, control and information systems to the upstream oil and gas, refining, chemical and process industries. The business expanded into South America two years ago with the acquisition of ISI Mustang and has also established operations bases in Canada, Europe and Saudi Arabia.
Control Engineering’s judge Don Roberts, auditor for the Control System Integrators Association (CSIA) and principal of Exotek, stated, “I was especially impressed with the Mustang Automation and Control group’s ability to live the company’s vision of making heroes of clients, partners, vendors and Mustangers, which creates a thriving company culture.”
Judge Bob Vavra, content manager for Plant Engineering Magazine, also noted Mustang’s sense of teamwork. “One of the most impressive things about Wood Group Mustang is that at a time of rapid expansion in the oil and gas market, they are able to keep pace with current integration projects while innovating their automation offering to the market. Some of this is building better equipment; some of it is building the right team to implement solutions. Put together, they deliver great solutions for their customers.”
“We could not be more honored to receive this prestigious award for the second time. The dedication and commitment of Wood Group Mustang’s automation team is what truly underlies this award and demonstrates the results of our focus on international growth, building strong client relationships and creating excellence in project execution,” said Richard Seale, president of the Automation and Control Business Unit.
